Snow Day Reminders

Snow Day reminder from NCPS:

On inclement weather days when buses are cancelled, our system will call the home and cell number of the first parent on file for all students who are not at school. This includes students who ride buses and those who walk to school. On these days, the message will ask you to call us back only if your child should be at school (i.e. they were dropped off or walked to school that day). If we don't hear from you, we will assume that you are aware that your child is absent.

When buses are cancelled, schools remain open for student learning, unless otherwise noted. School staff are expected to plan for such emergencies in order to transition students who are unable to attend due to inclement weather, to their online platforms (Google Classroom and/or SCDSBhub [Brightspace by D2L]) and continue with academic programming. It is always a family decision whether or not it is safe for their child(ren) to leave for school under severe weather conditions

Parents cannot opt out of this safe arrival program. It is a SCDSB Safe Arrival Policy.

Please visit and subscribe to the SCSTC website for up to date bus cancellation information.  All efforts are made to post cancellations between 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM.  Inclement weather cancellations are effective for the whole day and buses cancelled in the morning will not run at the end of the day. You can follow the Consortium on Twitter @SCSTC_SchoolBus for bus cancellations and other information. You can also subscribe to receive bus delay notifications here:https://simcoecountyschoolbus.ca/ When you subscribe, you will receive an email notification for delays of 15 minutes or more for your school vehicle route.  We are in the WEST Zone

In the event of a snow day, any food orders through lunchbox (Pizza, Subs, Kitchn' Savvy) will be cancelled and parents will receive a refund within 48 hours. Any events, sports, or field trips (including skating) that were originally scheduled for the snow day will be postponed until a later date and you will receive an updated schedule.
